Port Hood Community Park

Lead designer for the master plan of a new central park on a former school site in Inverness County, Cape Breton. Inspired by Port Hood's five iconic beaches, the plan pays homage to local heritage and incorporates a community wish list that delivers for both residents and visitors — an accessible playground, trails, splash pad, public washroom, and passive areas for events and recreation. From a covered stage set into the site's grade as a grassed amphitheatre to a lookout structure capturing panoramic ocean views, the design takes full advantage of the site's natural features, with thematic site furnishings creating a strong sense of identity and place.
