The TAAC Grounds athletic park was tendered by the municipality as a design-build project — but it arrived with an incomplete design and a scattered, piece-by-piece approach that risked spreading a finite public budget too thin. As part of our bid, Glenn Group did more than price the work in front of us: we proposed the key upgrades that would ensure the investment landed on the features that actually define an athletics facility — the track, the field, and the systems that keep them world-class.
Rather than tearing down and rebuilding from scratch, our strategy capitalized on the existing infrastructure — consolidating what was already in the ground with targeted, high-impact improvements. That single decision stretched the budget dramatically, redirecting money away from redundant reconstruction and toward the surfaces, drainage, and lighting that athletes and spectators feel every day.
The result is a complete, integrated athletic destination: a certified-calibre running track, a full-size synthetic turf field, grandstands and a press facility, engineered stormwater management, and high-quality sport lighting — all delivered as one coherent design-build, on budget.
